Making your own path- Part I

by - 15:30

This year I've decided to start a series about young, talented and inspirational girls who are doing great things or in my opinion have the capability to do extraordinary things. I want to use my blog as a space to praise my peers who inspire me to keep going and do great things, as well as to share their talent and achievements with my readers. Every month, I will ask a different girl the same set of questions. Girls from around the world, with different talents and one thing unifying them- they're making their own paths. Diving into their industry, improving every day and successfully leaping over every hurdle. If you fit this description in any shape or know someone who deserves to be praised and noticed contact me via social media for me to notice you.

Annie, England-SoundCloud
There is no better way to start this series off than with a good friend of mine Annie Majin. She is one of the most talented singers and musicians I have ever met and will probably ever meet. Her style is impeccable and I'm sure you'll love her just as much as I do.

How long have u been (doing music)?
I have been singing ever since I could talk, my first performance was in a pre-school nativity when I was three years old, I sang the solo and when I was finished I shouted out on stage "I'm tired, may I go home now?"

Have you always wanted to (do music)?
I have always enjoyed music and have wanted to be a musician since I was about 4 years old, although I always wanted to be an actress as well, I still do.

What do you never leave the house without and why?
I never leave the house without my earphones, I think I'd rather leave the house without my hands!

What do you do when you lack motivation?
When I lack motivation I read poems or quotes or listen to music that inspires me to get out of bed and create things.

Last song you listened to?
The last song I listened to was Quicksand by David Bowie - and underrated Bowie song in my opinion.

Favourite movie and why?
I am a massive fan of movies, and have many many favourites, although I am currently loving 500 Days Of Summer, as I relate to both protagonists and the non-linear narrative fascinates me.

Who is your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration has to be my brothers. They are very different people but both successful in their own ways, I've always admired them for that.

If you could be anyone for one day who would you be?
If I could be anyone for one day I'd be Fred Astaire. No explanation needed.

Favourite possession?
My favourite possession is my collection of original Beatles magazines, I feel very lucky to have them.

Guilty pleasure?
My guilty pleasure is singing opera in the shower, sorry neighbours.

Tell me a tip you swear by, it can be anything...
Never behave arrogantly towards the humble and never behave humbly towards the arrogant.

Tell me one fact about yourself that most people don't know...
Something most people don't know about me is that I love jazz music, especially from the 20's.

How do you measure your success?
I measure my success on how happy I am :)
